About this event

Description:

Spend an evening with current NEBCA president, Barbara Eriksson and ask about getting started as a NEBCA member, how to get the most from your membership, and getting started training and trialing your dog in novice classes. This will be an unrecorded interactive discussion with the opportunity to “meet” other beginners and find out how they have dealt with common obstacles.

Barbs Bio :

Barb got her first Border Collie, Dozen, in 2012. Her goal was to train him to be a farm dog. She entered her first trial with him in 2014 at the prompting of her instructor. He won the NN class in that trial (possibly the only time he won a class) which led to her current addiction to the breed and the work they do.

Barb served on the Novice Trials Committee for 4 years, as NEBCA vice president for 2 years, and as president for the past 3 years. She and her husband have a flock of about 30 North Country Cheviot ewes and they now share their home with 7 Border Collies. Barb works full time as a pet dog trainer and canine behavior consultant, does sheepdog demos, and competes in Open with two of her dogs. She hopes to be starting three of her young dogs on the Novice trial field this season.
